Dear Dish-It,

Normally I don't eat that much, but lately I've been craving food and stuffing myself like a horse. I don't want to gain weight because this is a situation I want to get out of. It's so weird because this is sooo not normal for me. Any tips on good exercises that would be helpful?

Dear xox_candygirl_xox,

Don't freak out just yet about your new eating patterns. Right now your body is going through some massive changes and because it's working so hard, it requires a lot more fuel than before. If you're hungry, you should eat because your body needs those calories to keep it functioning properly. Weight gain shouldn't be too much of a concern for you as long as you remember to eat healthy and keep up with regular exercise - you're supposed to get at least 30 minutes of activity in a day. When you're craving a snack, reach for some carrot and celery sticks or throw together some homemade trail mix and avoid munching down on pizza pockets and guzzling pop. This way, your body will get the necessary nutrients it needs and you will stay trim and healthy. Once you've made your way through puberty (which could take a few years!), your appetite will most likely get back to normal.
