As long as the New York Yankees continue to buy All Stars like Paris Hilton buys shoes, they'll continue to stay on top of the American League. New York reloaded their pitching staff by picking up Randy Johnson and Carl Pavano and should be able to get more run production from Alex Rodriguez and Jason Giambi (even if he isn't juiced up). While the Boston Red Sox are the reigning World Series champs, they don't have enough weapons this year to compete with the Yankees. But look out for the Anaheim Angels - they've got the bats and the pitching to do some damage in the playoffs.

The San Diego Padres could be a surprise to take the West, especially with Barry Bonds gone from the Giants. And don't be shocked if the Mets or the Marlins end up on top of the National League East. The only real safe picks are for the St. Louis Cardinals to win the Central division and for the Milwaukee Brewers to be as painful to watch as an Olsen twins movie.
