If you think Autobiography is going to be jam-packed with Jessica Simpson-type songs and lyrics, you'll be looking in the wrong place. While the two pop sensations may be related by blood, that's about all these divas have in common. Autobiography is edgy, soulful and real. With influences like Gwen Stefani and Janis Joplin, Ashlee Simpson has thrown together a disc that will definitely rival her female rocker idols.
Autobiography - Move Over Jessica
Autobiography is a disc that'll have you rockin' from the second you pop it in your CD player. Tunes like Autobiography, La La and Ashlee's first single, Pieces of Me, make it hard not to dance around your room and sing at the top of your lungs. Tracks like Unreachable and Give It All Away take it down a notch, but are equally catchy. Then there's the song titled Shadow - it's all about how Ashlee felt growing up in the shadow of her big sis, Jessica Simpson.
Autobiography - Sour Notes
It's understandable to be a bit leary of a CD put together by Jessica Simpson's little sister - especially if you're not the biggest fan of the Newlywed's star. But, Ashlee totally wipes away any misconceptions you may have of her with the first note on Autobiography. Ashlee manages to rock out through the whole album without any of that angry rocker chick attitude that can sometimes be a bit annoying. Her messages are positive and her tunes are toe-tappin'. Definitely something you'll want to add to your collection, cuz Ashlee Simpson's not going anywhere.
