If your R&B collection is as stale as a three day old donut, then maybe it's time you met JoJo. She's not old enough to drive yet but she's got enough soul for someone three times her age.

Way to Go JoJo

JoJo's self-titled debut album will impress even the most skeptical R&B fan. Sure JoJo is young, but so were Monica and Beyoncé when they started, and look at them now. JoJo's voice has a maturity well beyond her years and she keeps her lyrics real - you won't hear JoJo singing about getting with her best friend's man or how much bling she has. She's a real girl who writes about real life (and she keeps her clothes on!). As an added bonus, JoJo's single, Leave (Get Out) will have you shaken your booty 'til the sun comes up. It's an instant summer dance hit.

Uh-Oh JoJo

While JoJo's album is a mature effort for someone her age, she still shows signs of being musically undeveloped. The songs can get a bit cliché (didn't Christina sing about this stuff last week?) and a lot of them tend to sound the same. If you've heard Leave (Get Out) on the radio, you pretty much already know how the rest of the album sounds.

JoJo - Final Verdict

There is no doubt that this girl can sing. Her music is catchy and it'll make for great beach music this summer. While this album is good, not great, it's guaranteed that her next will be an instant hit. Check her out so that when she's huge in a few years you can say you've been listening to her since the summer of '04.
