Mika Boorem's Beginnings

Mika Boorem began acting at the young age of six. At first she flexed her acting talent on the stage, but then her family moved to Los Angeles and Mika signed with an agent. Before long Mika Boorem was appearing in commercials and reoccuring roles on TV shows like Touched by an Angel and Ally McBeal.

Mika Boorem on the Big Screen

Mika's first movie role was in the film The Education of Little Tree in 1997 when she was just 10 years old. A year after that, Mika Boorem landed the role of Natalie in Jack Frost. The role won her a Young Artist Award. In 2000, Mika scored another nomination when she played Mel Gibson's daughter, Margaret, in The Patriot.

Mika Boorem, Surfing and Dirty Dancing

As Mika gets older, her movie roles are getting bigger and better. Mika plays Kate Bosworth's party-girl little sister, Penny Chadwick, in Blue Crush. It was a big role for Mika Boorem and snagged her lots of attention. Another much-hyped flick, Dirty Dancing 2: Havana Nights stars Mika Boorem as Susie Miller, the younger sister of the dirty dancing protege, Katey Miller (played by Romola Garai). Mika's latest role is in the teen flick, Sleepover. Mika Boorem plays Hannah, a friend of Alexa Vega's character, Julie. Julie is supposed to be having a sleepover with all her friends, but instead the girls sneak out to meet up with some boys!
