Scooby-Doo, the movie, began production on February 12, 2001 in Queensland, Australia.
Scooby-Doo also stars Rowan Atkinson - AKA Mr. Bean. Rowan Atkinson plays Emile Mondavarious, the mysterious owner of Spooky Island. Who better to play a creepy, weird guy than bulgy-eyed Rowan Atkinson?
Scooby-Doo is a live-action movie but Scooby-Doo isn't played by a real Great Dane. He's created using CGI graphics, which means Scooby-Doo is computer generated with the same kind of technology they used to make Shrek.
Every episode of the Scooby-Doo cartoon series ends by unmasking and discovering the villain wasn't really a ghost, ghoul, demon, monster, goblin or swamp creature but a man or woman in a disguise. Of course, they're always angry that the Scooby gang stumbled onto their plot and end up muttering something like, "I would've gotten away with it too, if it hadn't been for those meddling kids."
The Scooby-Doo flick will reveal why Fred (Freddie Prinze Jr.) always wears an orange ascot (scarf) around his neck.
Matthew Lillard (from Scream and Summer Catch) does an amazing voice impression of Shaggy, which sounds identical to the original cartoon voice done by Casey Kasem. According to Freddie Prinze Jr., "Matthew Lillard does the best Shaggy you've ever seen. He even does the voice crack. Casey Kasem on his best day wishes he could do Shaggy as well as Matt."
Jinkies, Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, Matthew Lillard and Linda Cardellini have made Scooby-Doo a big hit. If you haven't seen it yet, make sure you bring your magnifying glass and plenty of Scooby Snacks!
