  • Homemade Barometer

Weathermen always go on about how the air pressure around us makes a big difference on the weather. Now you can create your own barometer to check the air pressure and predict the weather before it happens.

  • Salt Volcano

This simple science experiment is sure to impress your science teacher. It's not a volcano that you would use for geography class - this is your own miniature lava lamp except this one fizzles, foams and bubbles.

  • Pizza Box Solar Oven

Fry some eggs, put some wieners on the grill or heat some mini pizzas with this oven! Make this simple solar oven that actually gets hot enough to cook up a meal - or at least some cookies and other good stuff. As soon as the sun is out, it's time to become a chef.

  • Potato Battery

Now's your chance to play with your food by making a battery out of a potato. That's right - a potato is all it takes to keep a digital clock working. Well, a potato and a few other things. This is one of the easiest examples of a school science fair project but you'll probably want help from an adult with it.

  • A cool idea would be a nice lava lamp. I can't make one!!!

Hey all! I did an awesome science experiment on lava lamps when I was in 7th grade. All you need is the two different types of rubbing alcohol (70% which is regular and 90% which you have to look a little harder to find) and some mineral oil. Make a mixture in a small sample container of all three, the mineral oil will be at the bottom and when a light is put under it to heat it, it will rise. Once you have your perfect porportions figured out, make them large enough to go in a big bottle to display your lava lamp. You can also add food coloring to color your alcohol. Have fun!
