No Doubt Rock Steady CD Review
Lately it seems like Gwen Stefani has teamed up with everyone under the sun except her own band. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of Gwen and the band, No Doubt, now that their new CD Rock Steady has dropped.
The new CD seems a lot more upbeat and happier than their last effort, Return of Saturn. I wonder if this happy vibe is any indication of how things are going with Gwen's sexy man, Gavin Rossdale of Bush. (Somebody bring me some water!) It's rock - mixed with dance, reggae and ska, with an electronic groove to it. Rock Steady has a fresh vibe and although it sounds like No Doubt - it's totally unique! It's got great keyboard action too.
The first single, Hey Baby, has been making the rounds on radio and video. It's a funky track about all the *cough* groupies that are after Gwen's boys. C'mon Gwen... you've got Gavin. Rock Steady is a great party CD that is sure to have the floor bouncing in no time. One of my fave tracks on the album is Hella Good - which is EXACTLY what I was thinkin' when I listened to the song. It's really different sounding, with its sonic beats, um... panting and hard driving guitars.
The band barely slows it down on Rock Steady - a very fitting title for this fast-paced gem. Kick it up - Rock Steady is really heavy!
