Cool Song Lyrics

Songs are full of catchy choruses and rhymin' words but sometimes a line buried in a song might catch your ear. Do you find that certain lines jump out and grab you? It might be cuz they're deep and make you think or because you can relate to them. Or maybe it's because they're just cool lines. Here are some Kidzworld picks.

Destiny's Child has got some great lines in their songs but my fave lyrics are in Survivor and Jumpin' Jumpin'.

Destiny's Child - Survivor

"You know I'm not gonna diss you on the internet,
'Cause my mama taught me better than that."

I think it's cool how the internet is showing up in lyrics more and more as a sign of the times. I like this line cuz it's simple and clever. It's classy.

Destiny's Child - Jumpin' Jumpin'

"All you ladies leave your man at home,
The club is full of ballas and their pockets full grown,
And all you fellas leave your girl with her friends,
Cause it's eleven thirty and the club is jumpin', jumpin'."

I like these lyrics from Jumpin' Jumpin' cuz they're cool and it gives both his and her takes on the scene.

Backstreet Boys - The Call

"Listen Baby I'm sorry,
Just wanna tell you don't worry,
I will be late don't stay up and wait for me.
I'll say again you're drying out my battery it's low,
So you know, we're goin' to a place nearby,
Gotta go."

I like the way these these lyrics tumbled together when BSB sings them. Is his battery really dying or is it an excuse to get off the phone?

Limp Bizkit - My Way

"This time I'm 'a let it all come out,
This time I'm 'a stand up and shout.
I'm 'a do things my way,
It's my way, my way or the highway. "

I like the power behind these lines - a take it or leave it attitude.

Blu Cantrell - Hit'em Up Style

"While he was schemin'
I was beamin' in the Beamer just beamin'
Can't believe that I caught my man cheatin'
So I found another way to make him pay for it all."

I like these lines cuz they're playful. Blu sings the lyrics nice and sweet even though she really means business.

I love these lyrics because they speak about the band's situation. Lots of people slag *NSYNC because they are a "boy band" or a "pop" group. It's not cool and the guys finally address it in a wicked dance tune. If Eminem can slag them in a song, they can respond in a song. It's cool.
